Importing data

Imports

We recommend watching this video to understand what is possible when it comes to importing data. As explained in the video you can import data (Ie. your mailing list) from another provider (Eg. Mailchimp) using a .csv file and even add tags to your .csv in order to create targetable segments within your data.

  • Ensure that you have consent to email every address on the contacts you’re going to import. Sending to emails for which you do not have consent will lead to spam complaints which will lead to us having to unfortunately cut of your access to the feature.
  • Export the list of contacts from your existing provider in CSV format, this is the default export format for most providers (including Mailchimp)
  • In Buzzshot go to the “Broadcasts” section then in the side menu click “Imports”. Then click the “+ Import” button at the top.
  • Select “Create New Import” and click “Browse” to select the CSV file you saved earlier and click “Upload”.
  • Buzzshot will now analyse the file, once it’s ready you’ll be asked to select the meaning of the various columns. You should at a minimum match up the email column but you may also want to match first and second names and a phone number. Any columns you do not match will not be included in the import.
  • Click “Import” and wait for Buzzshot to complete the import process.

Tags

You can include one or more columns in your CSV that contain the names of tags to add to the imported player. Each row of these columns should contain the name of one tag so if you want to add multiple tags to a player you'll need multiple columns.
