Subscribe Forms

In ordinary operation Buzzshot will collect email addressess and consent from your players to be added to your email list. However you may also want to collect email addresses from interested parties who are not (yet!) players. You can do this using a Subscribe Form, either embed in your own website or hosted by us.

Emails collected with your Subscribe Form can be used with the Broadcast Email functionality of Buzzshot to send out newsletters, updates and the like.

Creating a Subscribe Form

Go to the "Broadcast" section of Buzzshot and then click on the "Subscribe Form" sub-menu item.

Click on Create Form and give your form a name:

You can also optionally set some "Tags" that will be added to anyone who subscribes through this form. This is useful if you'd like to keep track of different types of subscribes who you might send different types of emails to. You can also customise the confirmation email that will be sent when the form is submitted and edit the labels of the form.

Once you're happy click Create and you'll be taken to the embed page.

Embedding or Linking to your form

Once you have created a Subscribe Form you have two options.

Option 1: Use the hosted URL. You can the URL provided on the embed page and send people to it. For example you could add a link to it to your website, link to it from social media, or, include it in emails you send. When a person goes to that URL they will see your Subscribe Form and can choose to subscribe to your list.

Option 2: Use the embed code. A more advanced usage is to take the HTML code we supply and include it in your own webpage. This will mean the Subscribe Form will show up as part of your website allowing people to directly subscribe to your newsletter from your website. You may need to get in touch with whoever runs your website to ask them to insert the code.

Double Opt-In

All subscriptions via your Subscribe From are Double Opt-In. This means that a potential subscriber must first submit their email address on the form then go to their email inbox and click a confirmation link that is sent to them. This ensures that all the emails collected have been legitimately entered by the person who owns that email address.
