Tags

Tags are labels you can add to a player to mark them in some way. For example you might want to "tag" a player as "Experienced Player" so you know to give them less hints or "Caused Damage" so you can watch that they're being more gentle with the props this time.

You can tag a Player in the web admin by going to the Group or the Player page and clicking Add Tag. This will let you select from prevous tags or type in a name to create a new one. If a Tag isn't useful to you anymore you can go the Tags settings page and hide it.

Right now you can't add tags using the Buzzshot mobile/tablet app. We'll be adding that soon but let us know if you need that sooner!

Creating a segment

You can use Segments to create a list of players with a particular Tag (or Tags). Go to the Players page and click Edit Segments then Create Segment. Give it a name then in the filters below select "Tags" then "Has any of these tags" and select the Tag you want and finally click "Create".

Creating a segment

You can now select your newly created segment in the Players page to see all your players that have those tags whenever you want.

Selecting a segment to view

Showing tags in the Dashboard/Calendar view

If you have some tags that you want to know about straight away you can set them to display in the Dashboard/Calendar views. They will show on a Group on the Dashboard/Calendar if any of the players in that group have that Tag (maybe from a previous game?). To display a Tag in the Dashboard/Calendar views go to Tags settings page and edit a tag and select "Show on calendar".

Setting a tag to "Show on calendar"

By sparing with how many Tags you set to display on the calendar though. If more than 1 or 2 Tags display for a group on the calendar there may not be space for you to see them all.

Using Tags with Broadcasts

When sending a broadcast email to your players you can use Tags to decide who to send the email to. For example you might want to send an email just to you "Ethusiast" players. You can either use filters to select just players with a Tag or you can create a segment (see above) and use that (good if you'll be sending out more emailsin the future to the same set of players!).
