Automations: Email Player Action

The Email Player Action is used during an Automation send an email to the Player.

Send Email Action

To create a Email Player Action action click Add Action at the point in your Automation that you'd like to email the Playerand select Email Player.

You can select if the email is Marketing or Transactional. A transactional email is an email sent as part of the player's interaction with you, for example a reminder of their booking or a confirmation after their game. A marketing email is any other kind of email you might send. When in doubt ALWAYS choose Marketing. It is important to get consent from your players to send them marketing emails.

You can also choose what to happen if this email has already been sent to this Player. An Automation might be triggered multiple times for the same Player (this depends on the Trigger!). Usually you'd never want to send the same email twice so the default is to skip sending the email in all subsequent times. However there are some sorts of emails that you might want to send multiple times to the same Player (for example you might want to send a Player a reminder email before each game that they have booked) so it's possible to change the default. Do be careful with this setting, if you set it to allow multiple sends you'll want to make sure it doesn't send too much or you'll risk seriously annoying your players!

You need to decide from which email address the message will be sent. You can choose from the Email Senders you've configured in the email Settings pages. Note that you must Verify Your Email Domain before you use it to send emails with the Automations feature. This is important to do anyway as it stops your regular Buzzshot emails from ending up in the Spam folder.

Finally you can edit the contents of the email itself. This uses Buzzshot's Advanced Email Editor which allows you to design great looking emails and customise them with player details. You may find it useful to use the "Copy Email" and "Paste Email" buttons to copy existing emails from elsewhere in your Automation or elsewhere in Buzzshot so you don't have to setup your emails headers again and again.

Email monitoring

After email starts to send you'll see some stats on the action box in your automation. Sent tells you ho wmany emails have been sent so far by the action. Skipped tells you how many people reached this action in the automation but weren't sent an email, the reason for this will usually be that it's a marketing email and they haven't opted in to marketing, though it could also be that they don't have a valid email address set. Then Opened tells of the emails sent what percentage where oppened and Clicked tells you what percentage of emails sent led to a click on one of the links inside the email.
